Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has successfully operationalized a 551 MW solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in renewable energy development. The power generated from this facility is now being supplied to the national grid.
AGEL accomplished this feat within a span of 12 months from the commencement of work on the Khavda Renewable Energy (RE) park. The journey began with the development of essential infrastructure such as roads and connectivity, along with the creation of a self-sustaining social ecosystem. Notably, AGEL’s efforts also included the transformation of the challenging and barren terrain of the Rann of Kutch into a habitable environment for its workforce of 8,000 individuals.
Looking ahead, AGEL has ambitious plans for the Khavda RE park, aiming to develop a total renewable energy capacity of 30 GW. This planned capacity is expected to be operationalized within the next five years. Once completed, the Khavda RE park will emerge as the largest renewable energy installation in the world, solidifying AGEL’s commitment to sustainable energy development.
