According to the Russian Defence Ministry, a bulker transporting Western-supplied projectiles and ammunition to Kiev was also hit during the operation.
The western border regions of Russia, particularly Bryansk and Belgorod, have seen increased military activity and skirmishes over the past few months.
"Despite multiple attempts by the Ukrainian military to penetrate our defenses, our forces successfully repelled all attacks," the ministry's spokesperson said in a televised briefing.
“When our fifth-generation missile carriers go to sea, they will be met by multipurpose nuclear submarines of unfriendly countries, and various robotic means of detection and counteraction,” Vilnit stated.
Russian forces have reportedly struck Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in 127 areas, resulting in over 2,300 Ukrainian casualties in the past 24 hours, according to Russia's Defence Ministry.
Russian battlegroups have inflicted significant losses on Ukrainian forces, targeting troops, equipment, and drone manufacturing facilities across several regions, according to recent reports.
The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed that the strike, carried out by Russian drone units, successfully neutralized the armored vehicle, which had been supplied to Ukrainian forces by the United States.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the interceptions occurred without causing casualties or significant damage.
Among the injured is Ilya Ponomaryov, a former Russian lawmaker and outspoken Kremlin critic who has resided in Ukraine for several years.
