Ukrainian unit armed with NATO weapons destroyed in Kursk region

Russia has reported destroying a Ukrainian unit armed with NATO weapons in Kursk, with over 140 injured, including 10 children, since the attack began.

Russia has announced that its forces have successfully eliminated a Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage group equipped with NATO weapons in the Kursk region. The Kremlin has claimed that this unit was involved in an incursion into the area, further escalating tensions between Moscow and Kyiv.

A Kremlin aide has suggested that the United States played a role in orchestrating Ukraine’s recent actions in Kursk. This accusation follows increased hostilities as Ukrainian forces reportedly made advances into western Russia, capturing 82 settlements and taking control of the border town of Sudzha.

In response to these developments, Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported that its forces have regained control of the village of Ivanivka in Donetsk, an eastern Ukrainian region. Meanwhile, the United Nations Human Rights Office has requested permission from Moscow to visit border regions impacted by the Ukrainian incursion.

Since the onset of the Ukrainian attack on August 6, the acting deputy health minister for Kursk, Pavel Alimenko, has reported that over 140 people, including 10 children, have been taken to medical facilities for injuries suffered during the conflict. He assured that there is currently no shortage of medicines or essential supplies in the region’s medical institutions. Additionally, 400 medical personnel, including extra ambulance teams and specialists from national research centres, have been dispatched to assist in the affected areas.

The situation remains highly tense, with both sides continuing to report casualties and damages. The conflict has drawn international attention, with ongoing debates about the role of NATO and the involvement of external powers in the crisis.
