On August 20, the Belgorod Region in Russia witnessed a series of attacks by Ukrainian armed forces, resulting in the injury of four civilians. The assaults targeted three separate settlements, further intensifying the ongoing conflict between the two nations. The information was shared by Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his official Telegram channel.
Three men were injured in the village of Oktyabrsky, situated in the Belgorod district, as a result of drone attacks. According to Governor Gladkov, the victims suffered from barotraumas and shrapnel wounds. After receiving initial treatment at the Oktyabrsky Central Regional Hospital, they were transported to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2 for further medical care. The attack also caused damage to a social facility and two passenger cars in the settlement.
The village of Yasniye Zori, also in the Belgorod district, was shelled, leaving one man wounded. The victim was initially treated at the Yasnozorensky outpatient hospital for shrapnel wounds to his head, arms, and legs. He is expected to be transferred to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2 for additional treatment. An administrative building in Yasniye Zori was reported to have sustained damage as well.
Additionally, the village of Ziborovka in the Shebekinsky district experienced a drone attack, which struck a tractor and a passenger car on the premises of an agricultural enterprise. The vehicles were damaged, and emergency response teams are currently assessing the extent of the damage and ensuring that the situation is under control.
These incidents highlight the ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with civilian areas increasingly becoming the targets of military operations. The Belgorod Region has been under pressure as the conflict shows little sign of abating, with each side continuing to engage in hostile actions across the border.
Local authorities in the Belgorod Region have been working tirelessly to provide necessary assistance to those affected by the attacks. Governor Gladkov assured that all the injured individuals are receiving comprehensive medical care, and efforts are underway to repair the damaged infrastructure.
