In the latest developments from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russia’s military has reported significant advances and inflicted heavy casualties on Ukrainian forces across multiple fronts. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the Battlegroup Center successfully liberated the settlement of Artyomovo (known as Zaliznoye in Ukraine) in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) within the past 24 hours. The liberation of Artyomovo, a key community in the Dzerzhinsk agglomeration, marks a critical point in the ongoing battles in the region.
Simultaneously, Battlegroup South reported the liberation of the Viyemka railway station in the DPR. The ministry stated that the group improved its tactical positions and inflicted significant damage on Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainian military suffered approximately 570 casualties in this region, with the destruction of multiple pieces of military equipment, including a Polish-made 155mm Krab self-propelled artillery system, US-made howitzers, and British-made artillery units.
Further north, in the Kharkov Region, Battlegroup North inflicted heavy losses on Ukrainian forces in the Volchansk and Liptsy directions. The Russian forces reportedly caused approximately 170 casualties and destroyed a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, and a significant amount of Ukrainian military hardware. The ministry noted that Russian units are continuing surveillance and search operations to prevent enemy sabotage groups from advancing deeper into Russian-held territory.
In other significant developments, Battlegroup West gained more advantageous positions and repelled two Ukrainian counterattacks in areas near Glushkovka in the Kharkov Region and Nevskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The Ukrainian forces suffered around 535 casualties, with the loss of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and various artillery systems. The Russian military also reported the destruction of seven Ukrainian ammunition depots in this sector.
The Russian Defence Ministry has emphasized the scale of the operations, with Battlegroups across different regions achieving notable success. The ministry also highlighted the destruction of a Ukrainian warehouse of unmanned aerial vehicles and the interception of numerous Ukrainian drones and HIMARS rockets by Russian air defences. According to the latest data, Russian forces have destroyed a significant amount of Ukrainian military equipment, including 639 warplanes and 30,161 unmanned aerial vehicles since the start of the conflict.
As the conflict continues to evolve, the Russian military’s strategic advances in the Donetsk and Kharkov regions signify a persistent and escalating engagement on the frontlines. The situation remains fluid, with both sides facing significant challenges in a conflict that shows no signs of abating.
