Russian journalist and TV presenter Otar Kushanashvili recently expressed strong criticism toward pop singer Larisa Dolina, who reportedly lost an elite apartment and a substantial amount of money to scammers, according to Zakon.kz. The incident, which has drawn significant public attention, involves the 68-year-old artist becoming the victim of a well-orchestrated scam, which she disclosed in a video message on August 13, 2024.
Dolina revealed that sophisticated fraudulent actions were committed against her, leading to her financial loss. She mentioned that a criminal case has been opened, and she has been recognized as a victim, with her apartment now under legal seizure. Despite the gravity of the situation, Kushanashvili’s reaction has been one of frustration and disbelief.
Kushanashvili questioned how Dolina could have fallen for such a scam over an extended period, from April to July. He criticized her for not recognizing the warning signs, mocking the repeated requests for money that she complied with. In his YouTube show “What’s it like?”, the journalist sarcastically imitated the scammers’ supposed demands, questioning Dolina’s judgment.
The journalist, who recently returned to the show while battling cancer, also made a tongue-in-cheek appeal to Dolina for financial assistance, reflecting on his own need for funds for treatment. His remarks highlighted both his ongoing struggle and his perplexity over Dolina’s situation.
Kushanashvili’s blunt commentary underscores the broader concerns about the vulnerability of even high-profile individuals to scams. While he expressed admiration for Dolina’s artistic contributions, his harsh critique reflects the frustration many feel about such incidents. The disclaimer at the beginning of his show reminds viewers of the sensitive nature of the content discussed.
