Russian troops have escalated their operations against Ukrainian formations, with significant developments reported in the Kursk Region over the past 24 hours. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the operations have resulted in substantial casualties and equipment losses for Ukrainian forces.
Russian forces have reportedly destroyed an oil refinery that was providing fuel to the Ukrainian military. In addition, they targeted a site used by mercenaries and hit multiple areas occupied by Ukrainian troops. The Defence Ministry’s statement highlighted the use of operational and tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops, and artillery in these strikes.
In the Kharkiv and Sumy Regions, Russia’s Battlegroup North inflicted damage on four Ukrainian brigades, causing approximately 220 casualties and destroying six tanks along with two Buk surface-to-air missile systems. The battlegroup targeted Ukrainian military formations in several locations, including Yunakovka and Basovka.
Russia’s Battlegroup West has also reported notable achievements, having caused more than 530 casualties among Ukrainian troops. The battlegroup improved its tactical positions and repelled counterattacks from Ukrainian forces. Notable losses included a U.S.-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and a British-made AS-90 self-propelled artillery system.
Battlegroup South advanced to more favourable positions and inflicted around 620 casualties on Ukrainian forces. This battlegroup also destroyed various pieces of equipment, including a Polish-made 155mm Krab self-propelled artillery system.
Battlegroup Center and Battlegroup East also reported substantial achievements. Battlegroup Center inflicted 345 casualties and destroyed several pieces of equipment, while Battlegroup East improved its frontline positions and inflicted about 110 casualties.
Battlegroup Dnepr targeted two Ukrainian brigades, resulting in 60 casualties and the destruction of an electronic warfare station. Additionally, Russian air defences intercepted and destroyed 87 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and 11 HIMARS rockets.
Recent reports also highlight the Russian military’s ongoing efforts to counter Ukrainian advancements. The latest figures indicate extensive losses for Ukrainian forces, including significant destruction of military equipment and infrastructure.
