The Russian Defence Ministry reported significant advancements by Battlegroup North this week, liberating the settlements of Uspenovka and Borki in the Kursk Region. The operation, part of a broader strategy to counter Ukrainian incursions, has led to notable losses for Ukrainian forces.
During a week of intense conflict, Russian military actions reportedly resulted in the elimination of approximately 3,510 Ukrainian troops and the destruction of various military assets, including 18 tanks, 117 armoured combat vehicles, and multiple artillery systems. The ministry asserted that Russian airstrikes targeted Ukrainian manpower and weaponry, aiming to thwart potential counterattacks from Ukrainian mechanised and assault brigades.
The report highlighted that Battlegroup West successfully repelled 24 Ukrainian counterattacks, leading to the loss of over 3,745 Ukrainian servicemen and significant military equipment. Additionally, Battlegroup South claimed the liberation of Zhelannoye Pervoye and Georgievka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, alongside the neutralisation of numerous enemy positions.
Overall, Russian forces have been actively engaging in combat across multiple fronts, reportedly repelling numerous counterattacks while advancing their positions. The Defence Ministry detailed that the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed three Ukrainian Air Force fighters and downed multiple drones and missiles over the past week.
Since the onset of the special military operation, the Russian military claims to have eliminated extensive amounts of Ukrainian military hardware, including nearly 31,765 drones and over 18,000 armoured vehicles. The ongoing conflict underscores the complexities of the situation in Ukraine, as both sides continue to experience heavy casualties and material losses in their respective operations.
