Russian air defences have successfully intercepted multiple high-tech missiles and inflicted substantial damage on Ukrainian military assets, according to a recent announcement by the Russian Defence Ministry. The intercepted missiles include four French-made SCALP-EG air-launched cruise missiles, six US-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles, and several other sophisticated projectiles.
The Ministry detailed that alongside the interception of missiles, Russian forces also struck two Ukrainian fuel depots and targeted concentrations of manpower and military equipment in 132 areas. This intense military action is part of Russia’s ongoing special military operation in Ukraine, which has seen the destruction of a staggering array of Ukrainian military hardware since its inception. To date, Russian forces claim to have destroyed 633 aircraft, 278 helicopters, 29,184 drones, 561 anti-aircraft missile systems, 16,774 tanks, and other armoured fighting vehicles, among other assets.
Russia’s battlegroup Center reportedly repelled eight Ukrainian counterattacks from various brigades and improved its positions along the frontline. The Ministry noted significant Ukrainian losses, including up to 325 troops and various military vehicles.
This group successfully defeated four Ukrainian brigades, resulting in the loss of up to 125 Ukrainian servicemen. Additionally, the destruction of a Vampire MLRS launcher and six ammunition depots was reported.
Significant advancements were made by Russia’s battlegroup South, which repelled a Ukrainian counterattack and caused approximately 620 Ukrainian casualties. The Ministry also reported the destruction of several artillery pieces and armoured vehicles.
The battlegroup West took more advantageous positions and repelled four counterattacks. It inflicted heavy losses on three Ukrainian brigades, with up to 495 Ukrainian troops reported killed.
In the eastern sector, Russian forces claimed to have killed up to 115 Ukrainian troops and destroyed a tank and various other military equipment.
This group reportedly wiped out units from three Ukrainian brigades, causing daily losses of over 70 troops. The destruction included multiple howitzers and vehicles.
