Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is organizing ‘Maritime India Summit 2021’ on a virtual platform www.maritimeindiasummit.in, from 2nd March to 4th March 2021, to promote both international and domestic investment in the Ports and Maritime Sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit on 2nd March 2021 at 11 AM virtually.

As part of the summit, MoUs are being signed by major ports in India to promote maritime trade and establish new projects for upgrading infrastructure facilities.

“The objective of the Summit is to propel India to the forefront of the Global Maritime Sector. The signing of MoUs with various entities has already started. Mumbai Port Trust has signed MoUs worth Rs. 7400 Crore so far. It is expected that Rs. 20,000 Crore worth MoUs will be signed as part of this Summit,” said Chairman, Mumbai Port Trust, Rajiv Jalota.

The three-day event will be attended by stakeholders in the maritime sector including senior and eminent policy planners, domestic and international investors, CEOs of Indian and global maritime companies, industry experts, thought leaders, technology providers, bankers and insurers, and representatives of major ports and shipping lines from across the world.

The summit, while showcasing abundant opportunities in the maritime sector in India, will also provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and networking. Investment opportunities exist in all segments of the maritime sector, said the communication.
