The Defending Champions Mumbai Indians didn’t have to make any necessary changes in their existing squad. Though they had to just fill the spots of the released players. They are considered to be the most balanced team in the entire IPL. The biggest disappointment came for MI fans after getting the news of Lasith Malinga’s retirement.
Four-time IPL champions MI entered the 2021 players auction with a purse of INR 15.35 crore and seven slots to fill that included three domestic and four overseas. MI has successfully used 11.7 crore to buy 7 valuable players and has managed to save 3.65 crore in their purse.
