As President Joe Biden takes control of the federal government, Twitter is transferring the keys to official White House accounts over to Biden’s administration. Therefore, Joe Biden as the President of the United States tweeted his first post.

On this special prestigious occasion, Narendra Modi, Boris Johnson, WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and Benjamin Netanyahu heartily congratulated Biden after his swearing-in as the new US President via the Twitter platform.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday, heartily congratulates Biden and Kamala Harris says he ‘looks forward’ to working closely with the new administration. Johnson who earlier faced criticism as he praised Trump now warmly greets the new US President Biden exclaiming that the US and UK share the common goal in their fight against COVID-19, climate change, defence, trade and security and at the same time defending democracy.

“Only through international cooperation can we truly overcome the shared challenges which we face,” Johnson further added. He also said that that he is also looking forward to welcoming Joe Biden at the G7 summit to be held in the English county of Cornwall in June and at the COP26 climate change conference in November.

At the age of 78, Joe Biden took the oath of office to become the 46th president of the United States on January 20, declaring that “democracy has prevailed.” He was the oldest President inaugurated.

Kamala Harris became the first woman to be the Vice-President of the US. She was the former U.S. Senator from California and is also the first black person and the first person of South Asian descent elected to the vice-presidency and will become the highest-ranking woman ever to serve in government.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by former presidents Barack Obama, George W Bush and Bill Clinton with their wives. Former President Donald Trump notable absence from the ceremony was clearly visible. He landed in Florida an hour before Biden’s swearing-in, making him the first president in over 150 years to skip his successor’s inauguration. Jimmy Carter, the oldest living former president at 96 also did not attend the inauguration.
