On Monday 34 year old Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal became the first player to be ranked top 10 in ATP for 800 successive weeks. In November, the world number two broke Jimmy Connors’ previous record of 789 straight weeks in the top 10.

Shortly before winning his 13 open titles, Nadal first broke into top 10 in 2005.

As players are prepared for the Australian open next month there were no changes at the top 10 rankings. On Monday, some of the biggest sports stars will not get “Special treatment” along with those 72 players who were struck in hotel quarantine in Australia after four Covid-19 cases tested positive on chartered planes which flew players to the country.
