Iran has reiterated its firm position in ongoing diplomatic exchanges with the United States, stating that Washington must refrain from what it describes as “excessive demands” if negotiations are to continue, according to reports from Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

Citing an informed Iranian source, Tasnim reported that Tehran views the US negotiating approach as unrealistic and a key obstacle in the ongoing message exchange process between the two sides. The source emphasized that Iran considers the removal of such demands a necessary condition for sustaining diplomatic engagement.

The remarks come amid continued tensions following recent rounds of negotiations held in Islamabad, which ended without a breakthrough. Iranian officials have consistently maintained that US demands during these talks prevented the formation of a common framework for agreement.

According to multiple reports, discussions between Iranian and American delegations covered critical issues including sanctions relief, nuclear activities, the Strait of Hormuz, and broader regional security concerns. However, Tehran has accused Washington of attempting to secure concessions it could not achieve through military means.

Iranian officials have also stressed that any future progress in negotiations depends on mutual respect, recognition of Iran’s rights, and a shift away from what they describe as “maximalist” US positions.

Recent international developments indicate that diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with global stakeholders urging restraint and a sustainable resolution to tensions in the region. However, no official confirmation has been issued by US authorities regarding the latest claims cited by Iranian media.

The situation remains fluid, with uncertainty surrounding the timeline and conditions for the next round of talks.
