Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been awarded a significant contract by the , emerging as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a major infrastructure project. The contract involves the construction of the 3rd and 4th railway lines between Nergundi-Barang and Khurda Road-Vizianagaram, covering a total distance of 385 kilometres on the Bhadrak-Vizianagaram section.

The project entails the construction of several important bridges, including Bridge No. 539 over the river Birupa, Bridge No. 544 over the river Mahanadi, Bridge No. 553 over the river Kathjori, and Bridge No. 557 over the river Kuakhai. These bridges will be constructed using Open Web Steel Girder technology on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.

The total value of the contract is ₹967.92 crore, inclusive of an 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST). The project is expected to be completed within a three-year timeframe. This contract is a domestic project, and no promoter or promoter group companies have any interest in the entity that awarded the contract. Additionally, the contract does not fall within related party transactions.

The awarding of this contract marks a significant achievement for RVNL, reinforcing its position as a key player in the Indian railway infrastructure sector.
