Shares of metal sector companies traded broadly higher on Thursday, April 16, 2026, with most counters posting gains while Coal India was the only counter in the red.

Among the gainers, MOIL led the pack with a rise of 4.67% to ₹323.70 on BSE and 4.71% to ₹323.55 on NSE.

Maithan Alloys advanced 4.40% to ₹1,023.25 on BSE and 3.49% to ₹1,016.05 on NSE.

Hindustan Zinc gained 3.31% to ₹599.55 on BSE and 3.38% to ₹600.10 on NSE.

SAIL rose 1.83% to ₹169.95 on BSE and 1.71% to ₹169.80 on NSE.

Hindalco advanced 2.55% to ₹1,037.45 on BSE and 2.60% to ₹1,037.70 on NSE.

Vedanta gained 2.23% to ₹783.00 on BSE and 2.22% to ₹783.05 on NSE.

NALCO rose 2.21% to ₹433.10 on BSE and 1.98% to ₹432.30 on NSE.

Jindal Steel and Power advanced 1.56% to ₹1,240.40 on BSE and 1.41% to ₹1,238.50 on NSE.

NMDC gained 0.95% to ₹88.08 on BSE and 1.14% to ₹88.16 on NSE.

Tata Steel rose 0.72% to ₹210.30 on BSE and 0.75% to ₹210.29 on NSE.

Welspun Corp advanced 0.27% to ₹1,055.40 on BSE and 0.33% to ₹1,056.10 on NSE.

JSW Steel gained 0.24% to ₹1,221.15 on BSE and 0.08% to ₹1,219.60 on NSE.

Jain Resource Recycling Ltd rose 0.23% to ₹420.00 on BSE and 0.30% to ₹420.15 on NSE.

APL Apollo Tubes advanced 0.12% on BSE to ₹2,043.00, while declining 0.11% to ₹2,039.30 on NSE.

On the downside, Coal India declined 0.65% to ₹432.85 on BSE and 0.69% to ₹432.80 on NSE.

The above prices were recorded at 11:05:00 AM on BSE and 11:09:59 AM on NSE. Benchmark indices also traded higher during the session, with the Nifty 50 at 24,324.45, up 0.38%, and the S&P BSE Sensex at 78,464.09, up 0.45%.
