Power Mech Projects Limited (PMPL), a prominent player in the industrial engineering and infrastructure sectors, has been awarded a significant contract for the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of the Mumbai Monorail by Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL). The contract, valued at ₹296 crore, spans a period of five years and covers the 19.54 km corridor from Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk to Chembur, encompassing 17 stations.
The Mumbai Monorail, operational since 2014, is India’s only straddle monorail system. Under this new agreement, PMPL will provide comprehensive O&M services, which include the operation of advanced rolling stock and the implementation of a new and upgraded Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system.
Sajja Kishore Babu, Chairman and Managing Director of PMPL, expressed his enthusiasm about the contract, stating, “I am delighted to announce that PMPL has secured a major and strategically significant new award for the Operations and Maintenance of the Mumbai Monorail.
