Indian equity markets witnessed a sharp decline on March 27, snapping a two-day gaining streak. The benchmark indices closed deep in the red, with the Nifty falling below the 22,850 mark.
The BSE Sensex dropped 1,690.23 points or 2.25% to close at 73,583.22, while the Nifty 50 declined 486.85 points or 2.09% to settle at 22,819.60.
Despite the broad-based selling pressure, a handful of stocks managed to close in positive territory.

ONGC emerged as the top gainer of the day, ending at ₹281.1, up 4.0%.
Wipro
Wipro closed at ₹191.4, registering a gain of 1.2%.
Bharti Airtel
Bharti Airtel ended higher at ₹1850.0, up 0.8%.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
TCS settled at ₹2387.5, gaining 0.4%.
Coal India
Coal India closed at ₹445.1, up 0.3%.
Power Grid Corporation
Power Grid Corporation ended at ₹295.7, with a marginal gain of 0.2%.
