RailTel Corporation of India has been awarded a significant contract by the Department of Education Samagra Shiksha to establish smart classrooms in 596 government schools across Himachal Pradesh. The project, valued at ₹14,29,20,562 including tax, is a domestic endeavour aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure in the region.

The contract specifies that the project must be completed by 24 March 2027. This initiative is part of a broader effort under the Samagra Shiksha scheme to integrate technology into education, thereby improving the quality of learning and teaching in schools.

The order does not involve any related party transactions, and there is no interest from the promoter group or group companies in the entity awarding the contract. RailTel received the work order on 25 March 2026 at 18:17.
