Iran has made it clear that it will determine the timeline for ending the ongoing conflict, pushing back strongly against any external pressure, including from U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV, officials have reviewed a proposal aimed at de-escalating tensions but found the terms to be “too high”.

Iranian authorities also dismissed suggestions that Washington could influence the end of the war, stating that the country will not allow Trump to dictate when hostilities conclude. Instead, Tehran reiterated that it will continue defending itself until its own strategic objectives are met.

This stance aligns with recent statements from Iranian officials who have downplayed U.S. diplomatic efforts, with one military spokesperson even claiming that Washington is effectively “negotiating with itself.”

The developments come amid reports that the United States has sent a multi-point proposal to Iran through intermediaries, outlining conditions related to sanctions relief, nuclear restrictions, and regional security. However, Iranian leadership has shown little willingness to engage under the current framework, with demands from both sides remaining far apart.

As tensions persist, Iran has maintained that it will continue its military and strategic response, emphasizing sovereignty and resistance against external pressure. The situation highlights the deep divide between the two sides, with prospects for a near-term resolution still uncertain.
