The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has completed an extensive wave of airstrikes in Iran’s central city of Isfahan, according to an official statement by the IDF Spokesperson.

As per Ynetnews, the IDF said, “We completed extensive wave of strikes against regime targets in Isfahan and other areas.”

This comes amid the ongoing 2026 Israel-Iran war, with Israel (supported by the US) conducting sustained air campaigns to degrade Iran’s missile production, air defenses, and military capabilities. Iranian media reported casualties in some strikes, while Israel says the goal is to neutralize threats following Iranian missile barrages on Israeli cities.

Tensions remain high as both sides exchange blows.

Role of the Ongoing 2026 Israel-Iran War

These strikes are part of the wider 2026 Israel-Iran War, which started on 28 February 2026 with joint US-Israeli operations aimed at weakening Iran’s military strength, missile systems, and overall threat level. The conflict has involved repeated exchanges: Iran has fired hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israeli cities, causing injuries and damage, while Israeli and US forces have conducted sustained air campaigns to reduce Iran’s ability to launch further attacks.

The Isfahan operations help maintain air superiority, disrupt command structures, and limit Iran’s capacity for retaliation.  Both sides continue to trade blows, with civilian impacts reported on multiple fronts.
