Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed that India is making every possible effort to support its citizens living in the Gulf amid the escalating conflict in West Asia. Emphasizing that the security and safety of Indians remains the government’s top priority, PM Modi highlighted the scale of the evacuation operations, stating that “more than three lakh Indians have returned from the affected countries so far, including over 1,000 people evacuated from Iran.”
In his recent address to the Lok Sabha and ongoing reviews of the crisis, PM Modi underscored the government’s proactive measures to safeguard the large Indian diaspora in the region, which numbers around 10 million, many working in Gulf nations like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and others.
