Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a leading EV charging solutions provider and subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam to strengthen electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Under the agreement, TPEVCSL will install ultra-fast EV charging stations at key strategic locations across Gorakhpur. The initiative aims to improve public charging accessibility and support the growing adoption of electric mobility in the state.
The deployment will focus on high-footfall and transit-centric areas, ensuring EV users have convenient and reliable charging options. The move is expected to reduce range anxiety and encourage a broader shift towards sustainable transportation, aligning with Uttar Pradesh’s vision to accelerate green mobility and expand urban EV infrastructure.
Tata Power has significantly expanded its EV charging network under the brand EZ Charge, which now includes over 2 lakh home chargers, more than 5,500 public, semi-public and fleet charging points, and over 1,200 e-bus charging points across 630+ cities and towns. The network serves over 5 lakh registered customers. These charging points are strategically located at highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, bus and commercial vehicle depots, and residential complexes, supporting the rapid growth of electric mobility in India.
