In a recent Reliance investors presentation, the officials said that they are planning to commence their halted production from the second wave discoveries in its eastern offshore Krishna Godavari basin D6 block by this year, November or December.
Currently, the company is working on three projects in the KG-D6 block, where the production in the older fields was halted in February. Out of the three fields, the R-series will go live first.
Post the announcement of its second-quarter earnings, Reliance conglomerate claimed, “All wells have been drilled, completed, test and connected. All sub-sea installation and testing works have been completed.”
The officials asserted, balance work is under control, and riser performance is currently underway. Furthermore, “pre-commissioning and commissioning are expected in 3Q FY21.”
The COVID-19 lockdown disturbed the supply chain, which led to the halt of the R-Series field. Reliance in partnership with BP (a British multinational oil and gas company) is developing three sets of discoveries in the KG-D6 block – R – Cluster, Satellites, and MJ by 2022. The company has been expecting production of 28 million standard cubic meters per day by FY24 when all three projects will be up and running.
By the third quarter of 2021, R-Cluster will have a peak output of 12 mmscmd, and Satellites will produce a maximum of 7 mmscmd. By the third quarter of 2022, MJ will commence its production, will produce 12 mmscmd.
Last year in November, Reliance auctioned the first set of 5 mmscmd of gas from the newer discoveries in the KG-D6 block. They urged the bidder to quote a price, supply period, and the volume of gas required.
