Sajana suffered an injury while fielding during the Delhi Capitals Women vs Mumbai Indians Women match in the Women’s Premier League 2026 after a full-length dive near the boundary resulted in a collision with the LED hoardings.
The incident occurred when Hayley Matthews bowled a good-length delivery outside off stump and Jemimah Rodrigues guided the ball fine. Sajana, positioned at short third, sprinted after the ball and attempted a diving stop close to the boundary cushions. While she managed to get to the ball, her momentum carried her beyond the rope, where she banged into the LED advertising boards.
Following the impact, Sajana was seen clutching her left shoulder and appeared to be in visible discomfort. The on-field physio was immediately called out to assess her condition as play was briefly halted.
At the time of the incident, Delhi Capitals Women were closing in on the target, needing 12 runs off the final 10 balls, with Jemimah Rodrigues well set at the crease. Further updates on Sajana’s injury status are awaited.
