Ola Electric has announced a major expansion of its indigenous 4680 Bharat Cell platform at प्रारंभ 2026, marking a significant step in India’s energy storage and electric mobility ecosystem. With this expansion, startups and enterprises can directly purchase 4680 Bharat Cells or the 1.5 kWh 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack for use across automotive applications, humanoids, drones, and portable medical equipment. The move is aimed at enabling faster innovation and scalable deployment of advanced energy storage solutions that are designed, engineered, and manufactured in India.
At the centre of this development is the 4680 Bharat Cell, Ola Electric’s in-house energy platform that now powers its entire two-wheeler portfolio as well as its residential energy storage offerings. Built on the philosophy of “one cell, one platform, one portfolio for India,” the platform is positioned as a unified solution addressing mobility and energy needs across multiple use cases.
Alongside the cell platform expansion, Ola Electric announced that its residential Battery Energy Storage System, Ola शक्ति, is now open for purchase. Deliveries of the शक्ति 6 kW / 9.1 kWh variant are scheduled to begin by the end of January 2026, while the शक्ति 3 kW / 5.2 kWh variant is expected to start deliveries by mid-February 2026. Ola शक्ति is designed as a portable, on-demand energy solution for Indian households, farms, and small businesses, reflecting a shift toward decentralised and consumer-controlled energy consumption.
The company has also commenced deliveries of its flagship electric motorcycle, Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, which is powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell and offers a claimed range of up to 500 km on a single charge. In parallel, Ola Electric has scaled up PAN India deliveries of the S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh, strengthening its presence in the premium electric scooter segment.
