Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has moved to clarify the controversy surrounding him being seen drinking from an Arsenal-branded cup following Spurs’ recent game against Bournemouth. The incident occurred after Tottenham’s match against the Cherries and quickly gained traction on social media, sparking debate among fans due to the club rivalry involved.
Frank, who took charge of Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, addressed the situation and firmly denied any intentional disrespect towards Spurs or their supporters. The Danish manager explained that he was completely unaware of the cup’s branding at the time and insisted there was no hidden meaning behind the moment that was caught on camera.
“I definitely did not notice it, and it would be completely stupid of me to take it if I knew. Absolutely stupid,” Frank said, making it clear that the situation was accidental rather than deliberate.
He further expressed disappointment that he even had to respond to the issue, stressing that he would never intentionally do something that could be interpreted as disrespectful.
