NTPC has announced the commercial operation date (COD) of an additional 13.98 MW capacity under its Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, taking the total commissioned capacity of the project closer to its planned scale.

In a regulatory filing dated December 30, 2025, the company informed stock exchanges that the ninth part capacity of 13.98 MW out of the total 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project has been declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hours on December 30, 2025 .

The project is being developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited through NTPC Green Energy Limited.

With the commissioning of this capacity, NTPC said the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group has increased to 85,637 MW .

Separately, NTPC Green Energy Limited disclosed that following this addition, the commercial capacity of the NGEL Group stands at 7,996.30 MW, while the total installed capacity has increased to 8,010.28 MW .

The Khavda solar projects form a key part of NTPC’s renewable energy expansion strategy and are among India’s largest solar developments aimed at supporting the country’s clean energy transition.
