The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved a six-month extension for Tech Mahindra, which manages the board’s official website and mobile applications, to ensure uninterrupted digital operations during the ongoing transition process.
According to details discussed at the Apex Council level, Tech Mahindra had sought a 12-month extension, but the BCCI cleared only a six-month extension beyond December 31, 2025. The original agreement between the two parties was valid until December 31, 2024, and was earlier extended by a year till the end of 2025.
In an official note, the BCCI stated that the extension has been critical for the seamless day-to-day functioning of its digital properties, including coverage and operations related to international and domestic tournaments, as well as the Online Domestic Management System (ODMS), while a consolidated Request for Proposal (RFP) process for digital platform management has been underway.
With the 2025–26 season already in progress and the RFP process nearing its conclusion, the BCCI said it engaged with Tech Mahindra for a short-term extension to ensure operational continuity until a final decision is taken and a structured transition plan is implemented.
The board highlighted that a phased and orderly transition is essential to avoid disruption to live operations, data integrity, fan-facing platforms, and regulatory or commercial commitments linked to its digital ecosystem. However, Tech Mahindra maintained that any further extension should be for 12 months, leading to a divergence in positions between the two sides.
In light of this, the BCCI said it is examining alternative solutions, including interim arrangements within the existing contractual framework and the possibility of aligning short-term operational support with the prospective new service provider identified through the RFP process.
The board added that any transition will be carefully coordinated to safeguard the stability and quality of its digital operations.
