KPI Green Energy has received three Notifications of Award from NTPC Limited for its first green hydrogen and waste-to-energy project, marking the company’s entry into the green hydrogen segment. The project involves setting up a 1 tonne-per-day green hydrogen generation plant using plasma gasification technology at NETRA, NTPC Greater Noida, according to the company’s regulatory filing .
The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance for two years, excluding civil and structural steel works. The aggregate contract value stands at Rs 128.49 crore (excluding GST). The project will convert municipal solid waste, refuse-derived fuel and agricultural waste into synthesis gas for green hydrogen production, supporting energy recovery while reducing landfill dependence .
KPI Green Energy said the award represents a strategic extension of its renewable portfolio beyond solar, wind and hybrid power into emerging clean-energy technologies such as waste-to-energy and green hydrogen. The company also noted that the project is among the early deployments of plasma gasification-based green hydrogen projects in India, strengthening its presence in next-generation energy solutions .
