Germany international Niklas Füllkrug has made AC Milan his preferred destination this summer, despite ongoing negotiations involving Premier League side West Ham United, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Füllkrug, who currently plays for West Ham, is understood to be keen on a move to San Siro and would favour joining the Serie A giants ahead of returning to the Bundesliga. Romano revealed that the striker has a clear preference for Milan “ahead of any proposal from Bundesliga,” underlining the player’s desire to test himself in Italian football.
Talks between West Ham and interested parties are already well underway. Negotiations regarding Füllkrug’s future have been ongoing in recent days, with multiple clubs monitoring the situation closely. While Bundesliga sides have shown interest in bringing the German forward back to his home country, Milan currently appear to have the edge in terms of the player’s personal choice.
AC Milan are in the market for attacking reinforcements as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. Füllkrug’s physical presence, aerial ability and experience at both club and international level make him an attractive option for the Rossoneri, who are aiming to compete strongly in Serie A and Europe.
