Shares of RMC Switchgears Ltd rose 2% to ₹452.25 on Friday after the company announced the successful commissioning of 8.8 MWac out of the 46 MWac Solar EPC Project awarded by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) at Shevgaon in Ahmednagar district.

The commissioned portion corresponds to ₹38.49 crore out of the project’s total value of ₹153.98 crore, being executed under a complete turnkey EPC arrangement. The company said this marks a key milestone in the execution cycle, with the remaining work progressing as planned. RMC expects to complete the full 46 MWac capacity within the current financial year.

Located in a largely rural region, the project is expected to improve power stability for farmers, small businesses, and households once fully operational. It will also support Maharashtra’s renewable energy push by strengthening irrigation reliability, reducing diesel dependence, and improving overall energy access in the surrounding villages.

The commissioning highlights RMC’s engineering capabilities and disciplined execution practices. The project uses crystalline solar PV modules, robust electrical systems, and infrastructure designed as per MAHAGENCO specifications. RMC’s engineering and project management teams coordinated on land preparation, module mounting, electrical integration, and grid-readiness to achieve the milestone.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Ankit Agrawal, CEO and Whole-Time Director of RMC Switchgears Limited, said:

“Achieving the 8.8 MWac commissioning milestone in the MAHAGENCO solar project demonstrates our commitment to timely and high-quality execution. This progress reflects our team’s technical capability and disciplined approach to project delivery. Beyond the engineering accomplishment, the project stands to benefit the local community by enhancing power availability and supporting Maharashtra’s broader renewable energy transition. We look forward to completing the remaining capacity and continuing our contribution to sustainable infrastructure development in the state.”
