Shares of Pine Labs Ltd traded 1% higher at Rs 245.15 on Wednesday, Dec 10, after the company announced a breakthrough product launch—India’s first agentic bill-payments experience built by its subsidiary Setu. The new system integrates directly with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude, aiming to automate and simplify how consumers track and pay their monthly bills.

According to Pine Labs’ exchange filing dated December 9, 2025, Setu’s AI-powered agent is designed to reduce the effort spent on monitoring due dates, identifying billing errors, and reviewing recurring charges. While bill payments take only minutes, the company noted that managing them remains highly manual for most users—a gap this solution aims to eliminate.

The agentic experience autonomously fetches bills in real time, detects unusual charges by comparing historical patterns, processes payments securely using pre-blocked funds, and tracks spending to offer financial insights. Importantly, the agent operates only within user-defined rules, ensuring it never exceeds preset limits or pays incorrect bills.

Commenting on the launch, Pine Labs CEO B. Amrish Rau said that although India’s digital infrastructure has revolutionised payments, the behind-the-scenes work of bill management has remained unchanged. The new agentic system aims to bring automation, accuracy, and trust into this workflow.

The experience is currently live on ChatGPT and Claude, with plans for expansion to other AI platforms. A demo video has been made available on Setu’s official blog.
