Bharat Forge Ltd on Wednesday issued a strong clarification denying a Reuters report that claimed top Indian arms manufacturers held “rare meetings in Russia” to explore potential joint ventures. The company stated that it had no involvement, representation, or presence in any such discussions.
In its exchange filing, Bharat Forge said it “unequivocally denies any representation or participation in the meetings referenced in the article,” adding that no individual from Bharat Forge or any Kalyani Group company has travelled to Russia since 2021.
The company urged media outlets and stakeholders to refrain from publishing speculative reports based on unverified information. The clarification was issued under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR).
The Reuters report, published on December 9, suggested exploratory meetings between Indian defence manufacturers and Russian entities amid geopolitical and supply-chain shifts in the defence sector. Bharat Forge has now made it clear that the company’s name should not be linked to the reported interactions.
