Orient Green Power Company Ltd (OGPL) has officially announced its first-ever entry into the solar energy segment, marking a major strategic expansion beyond its established wind power portfolio.

According to the company’s exchange filing, its subsidiary Delta Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd has successfully developed a 7 MW AC Solar Power Project at Krishnasamudhram Village in Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu. The installation has been completed and service connection was received today, with commissioning expected by the end of the day.

The solar plant will operate under the Group Captive Model, supplying power to Delta’s captive shareholders. OGPL said the move represents a significant milestone as the company diversifies its renewable energy footprint and enhances its long-term growth strategy.

The company has informed stock exchanges (BSE & NSE) under Regulation 30, stating that all procedural compliances are underway.
