Rapper POORSTACY, whose real name was Carlito Milfort, died at the age of 26 after a medical emergency in Boca Raton, Florida. The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner and Boca Raton Police Department confirmed his death, which occurred early Saturday. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Checked into hotel with a woman and toddler

According to a hotel staff member who spoke to TMZ, POORSTACY had checked into the Boca Raton hotel around 10 days earlier, accompanied by a woman and a toddler. He had been staying there quietly, and no issues were reported during his stay.

On Saturday morning, an unidentified incident took place inside the hotel room, prompting the staff to call emergency services. First responders arrived quickly and transported him on a stretcher. Despite medical efforts, he passed away soon after reaching the hospital. Police confirmed that no one else was injured during the incident.

Cause of death not yet disclosed

Authorities have not released the official cause of death. As the investigation continues, speculation has surfaced online, but no evidence has been confirmed. Fans began flooding his Instagram with tributes, sharing how deeply his music had affected their lives.

A rising artist gone too soon

POORSTACY, a Palm Beach–based musician, was known for blending punk rock, metal, post-punk and emo rap. His 2019 EP I Don’t Care marked his breakthrough, followed by his popular albums The Breakfast Club (2020) and Party at the Cemetery (2021). He collaborated with Iann Dior and Travis Barker, including on their song “Choose Life.”

His work also featured on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack of Bill & Ted Face the Music, placing him among major global rock and metal acts.

He recently released “Nothing Belongs to You” in July and “Last Time Around” with Paris Shadows in October. His last Instagram post was in August.
