Manuel Neuer’s future at Bayern Munich has entered a delicate, intriguing phase after the veteran goalkeeper revealed he is in no rush to decide on a contract extension beyond June. The Bayern captain, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, admitted he needs more time to evaluate whether continuing at the top level makes sense for him physically and mentally.
Speaking to Sky Germany, Neuer said: “I would like to take my time with that. It’s really about taking the moment to say, okay, how is my body doing? What’s my health like? Does it make sense to continue? I need a bit more time.”
His comments, rarely this open from the legendary shot-stopper, have sparked fresh speculation around what could be one of the biggest decisions of his career. Bayern have yet to publicly push for immediate clarity, but internally, the club is understood to be preparing for multiple scenarios, including the possibility that Neuer delays talks until late in the season.
