A tragic railway accident in China’s southwestern Yunnan province left 11 maintenance workers dead and two others injured on Thursday after a test train struck a crew on the tracks, according to Xinhua News.
The incident occurred at Luoyangzhen Station in Kunming city, where the workers had reportedly entered a curved section of the railway line. At the same time, a test train was conducting checks on seismic monitoring equipment, local reports said.
Emergency teams rushed to the site, and authorities have launched a detailed investigation into how the workers and the test train ended up on the same track section. Further updates are awaited from the railway bureau.
