Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL), one of India’s most recognised names in the renewable EPC space, has added another major international project to its portfolio this fiscal. The company has secured a turnkey EPC contract for a 240 MW AC solar PV project in South Africa, marking its second major order from the country within just two months. The contract is valued at around USD 147 million, which translates to approximately INR 1,313 crore, underscoring the scale and importance of the project.

This new win strengthens SWREL’s expanding presence in the South African renewable energy market. The company is now working on four large turnkey solar PV projects with four different developers in the region. Two of these projects were awarded last fiscal and have already made substantial operational progress, helping the company establish a strong on-ground footprint. The two newly awarded projects further deepen its position in a market that is growing rapidly due to rising corporate demand for energy security, falling technology costs, and the need for greater grid stability.

Global CEO Chandra Kishore Thakur expressed confidence and optimism while speaking about the latest order. He noted that securing two significant international solar EPC contracts from South Africa in such a short span reflects the company’s strong value proposition and its trusted position among global renewable developers. Thakur added that the company has now achieved order inflows of approximately INR 5,088 crore so far in the current fiscal year, and the momentum remains strong.
