Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Wednesday that relations between Moscow and Washington remain “in early stages of normalization,” stressing that “the overall success of this process is not guaranteed.”

Speaking at a press conference, Ryabkov said Russia is prepared to continue dialogue with the United States. “When the American side officially declares its readiness, we will naturally reciprocally join,” he stated, adding that it is important that Moscow’s position remains aligned with the agreements reached at the Alaska summit.

Ryabkov also warned that certain Western European countries are attempting to undermine potential peace arrangements on Ukraine. “They have completely exposed themselves as the main opponents of any agreements,” he said.

The deputy minister added that there are currently no plans for a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, but said it could be organized “as soon as possible, if necessary.”
