Wipro Limited has announced a major collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) aimed at driving breakthrough research across advanced and emerging technologies. The partnership brings together Wipro’s engineering and AI capabilities with IISc’s scientific expertise to accelerate innovation in areas such as agentic AI, embodied AI, quantum AI, and quantum-safe security solutions.

The alliance gains further strength from the Wipro Innovation Network, which forms a core part of the Wipro Intelligence™ suite of AI-driven platforms and solutions. Through this network, Wipro aims to speed up co-innovation cycles, support enterprise transformation, and deliver large-scale AI adoption across global industries.

Under the agreement, the organisations will establish a joint research program dedicated to cutting-edge work in quantum computing, advanced AI model development, secure digital infrastructure, and autonomous networking. Senior researchers and faculty from IISc will collaborate closely with Wipro’s engineers and technologists, creating a powerful innovation ecosystem that strengthens Wipro’s ability to build next-generation, AI-powered capabilities for sectors including telecom, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare.

The partnership is expected to help Wipro create industry-ready platforms, scalable AI models, and new intellectual property that will be integrated into its WINGS and WEGA delivery platforms as part of the broader Wipro Intelligence™ portfolio. For IISc, the alliance brings expanded research opportunities, deeper collaboration with industry, and pathways for technology transfer and commercialization.

Both teams will work on solutions designed to deliver real-world impact. This includes advancing autonomous network intelligence and agentic AI for telecom operators preparing for future 6G environments, developing embodied AI systems for manufacturing and industrial operations, strengthening enterprise resilience through quantum-inspired optimization models, and building future-ready digital trust frameworks using distributed ledger technology and quantum-safe cryptography.
