Mahindra has announced an ambitious expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with the inauguration of its first Charge_IN ultra-fast charging stations and a commitment to install 1,000 charging points by 2027. Each station will operate exclusively with 180 kW dual-gun chargers, forming one of India’s fastest public EV charging networks.
The first two Charge_IN stations have been commissioned in Hoskote on the Bengaluru–Chennai NH75 corridor, and in Murthal on NH44 near Delhi. Each facility includes two high-powered chargers capable of simultaneously powering up to four EVs.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Executive Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., said the network is designed to make long-distance EV travel seamless.
He added, “With XEV 9e and BE 6 offering 500 km of real-world range, and a growing ultrafast charging network, we aim to make electric driving as effortless and reliable as conventional mobility.”
Mahindra’s Charge_IN infrastructure will support the upcoming Mahindra eSUVs — XEV 9e, BE 6 and XEV 9S — all of which can be charged from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes. Stations will be located along key highways and co-located with restaurants and cafes for added convenience.
The Charge_IN network will be open to all EV users. Charging can be located and booked via the Charge_IN by Mahindra app or other major aggregator platforms. Mahindra EV owners can additionally use the Me4U app, which already offers access to 34,000+ public charging points across the country.
