India’s struggles continued in the second session on Day 3 of the 2nd Test in Guwahati, as wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant fell to Marco Jansen, leaving the hosts reeling at 105/5 while still trailing South Africa by 384 runs.

Rishabh Pant, who looked positive early with a six, attempted to push on but edged a short-of-good-length ball from Jansen. Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne completed a sharp catch behind the stumps. Pant immediately reviewed the on-field decision, but UltraEdge showed a clear spike, confirming his dismissal for 7 off 8 deliveries (1 six).

This wicket came just moments after India had lost Dhruv Jurel for a duck, marking a rapid collapse from 95/1 to 105/5 within a short span. The South African bowlers, led by Jansen and Harmer, have dominated the session with relentless accuracy and movement off the surface.

With Ravindra Jadeja and the lower order now at the crease, India face an uphill task to reduce the massive deficit as South Africa maintain complete control of the Test.
