India suffered a major blow on Day 3 as Yashasvi Jaiswal departed after a well-crafted 58 off 97 balls. The left-hander, who had looked solid throughout the morning session, was undone by Simon Harmer’s sharp turn and bounce. Jaiswal, trying to play off the back foot, could only edge the ball towards Marco Jansen at slip, who completed a comfortable catch.

At the time of dismissal, India were 95/2 in 32.2 overs, still trailing South Africa by 394 runs. Jaiswal’s knock included seven fours and a six, and his wicket has put the visitors firmly back in control of the Test.

Sai Sudharsan is batting on 14, looking to rebuild alongside the incoming batter.
