Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), Asia’s first listed depository and custodian of over 16.7 crore demat accounts, has launched its first-ever Reimagine Ideathon aimed at engaging students in reshaping investor education and market participation. The initiative is part of the 3rd edition of CDSL’s Annual Reimagine Symposium.
The Ideathon invites young innovators to design solutions that enhance responsible, inclusive and empowered investor engagement. CDSL noted that while the depository ecosystem secures assets of more than 21 crore investor demat accounts, significant potential remains to deepen participation in India’s securities markets.
Aligned with efforts by regulators such as SEBI and the RBI, the Ideathon encourages students to explore solutions through technology, design, behavioural nudges, gamification and communication. Submissions must reflect the principles of empowerment, inclusion and trust.
“Reimagine Ideathon is a celebration of responsible innovation,” said Nehal Vora, MD & CEO, CDSL, adding that intuitive and accessible market infrastructure is essential for an Atmanirbhar investor base.
The competition carries a prize pool of ₹11.5 lakh, with ₹5 lakh for the winning idea. Registrations open on November 19, 2025, and teams of up to four students with a mentor can participate.
