Nifty Bank touched a new record high on Wednesday, climbing more than 300 points to trade above 58,580 in morning session. The index rose 0.53%, extending its recent upward momentum and outperforming the broader market.

At 11:04 AM, Nifty Bank was trading at 58,580.60, up 305.95 points from the previous close of 58,274.65. The index hit an intraday high of 58,571.70 — its highest level ever.

The rally was supported by strength in major banking heavyweights across both private and public sector names. Sentiment in the financial space has remained firm with steady credit growth, improving asset quality trends, and positive traction seen in Q2 earnings across lenders.

Nifty Bank now remains the strongest performing sectoral index in the market, with traders watching whether the benchmark can sustain above the record zone in the second half of trade.
