Shares of Vodafone Idea gained 2.4% on Tuesday, November 11, to trade at Rs 9.73 on the NSE after the telecom company reported a significant improvement in its second-quarter earnings for FY26. The stock opened higher and maintained positive momentum throughout the morning session, reflecting investor optimism following the results.

The company’s net loss narrowed to Rs 5,524.2 crore in Q2 FY26, compared to Rs 7,175.9 crore in the same quarter last year. Sequentially, losses also reduced from Rs 6,611.1 crore in Q1 FY26, indicating improving operational efficiency and cost control.

Revenue from operations rose 2.4% YoY to Rs 11,194.7 crore, up from Rs 10,932.2 crore in Q2 FY25. The increase was driven by higher average revenue per user (ARPU) and improved subscriber quality. ARPU — a key performance indicator for telecom companies — climbed to Rs 180, marking an 8.7% YoY increase from Rs 166 in the previous year, aided by customer upgrades and tariff revisions.

Vodafone Idea’s subscriber base stood at 196.7 million, with 127.8 million 4G/5G users, up from 125.9 million a year earlier.

The company also stated it is in discussion with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) following recent Supreme Court rulings on adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, which allow for reconsideration and reconciliation of past demands.

At current levels, Vodafone Idea’s market capitalization stands at approximately Rs 66,500 crore.
