Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has suffered another injury setback and will be sidelined for at least one month after picking up a quadriceps injury during the Blues’ UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Qarabag. The 20-year-old, who has endured a frustrating spell since joining Chelsea, is not expected to return before mid-December at the earliest.

Lavia’s debut season at Stamford Bridge has been plagued by injuries, with the Belgian midfielder yet to gain consistent minutes under manager Enzo Maresca. Having recently returned to fitness, Lavia’s latest setback comes as a major blow both for the player and the club, especially at a time when Chelsea are striving for stability in the Premier League and Europe.

The injury reportedly occurred in the latter stages of Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Qarabag, and subsequent scans have confirmed a muscle strain in his right thigh. Club medical staff will now oversee his rehabilitation, with hopes of having him back before the busy Christmas schedule.
