Stand-up comedian Samay Raina, who faced intense backlash earlier this year over his YouTube show India’s Got Latent, has hinted at making a comeback with Season 2. Months after the controversy that led to multiple FIRs and the removal of all episodes, Raina appears ready to revive the show that once put him at the center of a nationwide debate.
According to a reports, Raina made the announcement during his live show “Still Alive & Unfiltered” at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Addressing the audience, the comedian said, “Show toh main wapas launga” (I will bring back the show), drawing loud cheers and applause from fans who have been waiting for updates on the series.
Earlier this year, Raina, along with YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani, came under fire after an episode of India’s Got Latent went viral for its offensive and vulgar remarks, including a question from Allahbadia about a participant’s parents. The clip triggered public outrage, multiple FIRs under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and IT Act, and widespread criticism over the boundaries of comedy in India.
Amid the backlash, Raina took down all episodes of the show and issued a public apology to the disabled community following complaints from the CURE SMA Foundation of India. On his 28th birthday, October 26, he posted an emotional message acknowledging his mistake, writing, “Today is my birthday and instead of celebrating just myself, I want to use this day—the most special day of the year for me—to apologise to the people with disabilities.”
He added that he and his fellow comedians — Vipul Goyal, Sonali Thakkar, Nishant Tanwar, and Balraj Ghai — would be “more mindful and do our best to spread awareness about the challenges faced by the community.”
With his latest statement, Raina seems determined to move past the controversy and reinvent his brand of humor. Whether India’s Got Latent returns in the same format or with a new twist remains to be seen — but for now, fans can expect the show’s second innings soon.
