Australia stormed into the semifinals of the Hong Kong Sixes 2025, defeating Bangladesh by 54 runs after registering the highest total of the tournament — a mammoth 149/2 in six overs.

Australia’s innings began with Jack Wood smashing a six off the first ball before departing in the same over, but what followed was sheer carnage. Cameron Bosisto hammered five sixes in five balls, blazing his way to a 30-run cameo off just six deliveries. The assault continued as Ben McDermott and Alex Ross forged a fiery fifty-run stand, both bringing up quick fifties to propel Australia past all previous team totals in this edition.

The Aussies sent the ball soaring 21 times over the ropes, alongside two boundaries, leaving Bangladesh with a mountain to climb.

In reply, Bangladesh were restricted to 95/5, despite a valiant unbeaten 50 off 18 balls from Abu Hider Rony, who batted alone as the ‘last man standing’ under the Sixes format.

With this dominant win, Australia sealed their semifinal berth in style, showcasing their explosive batting firepower and reaffirming their title credentials at Hong Kong Sixes 2025.
